Before 1950, Seiler's main business was the design, manufacture, and repair of survey instruments. Engineers and surveyors in the St. Louis area brought instruments of all makes and models into Seiler for repair and replacement of parts. Midwestern friendliness and fair pricing made the business successful. Seiler still maintains a well-equipped Service Department, but the Survey Division has grown and expanded.

Today, Seiler offers a variety of state-of-the-art equipment from well known United States, European and Japanese manufacturers. In addition, the St. Louis headquarters offer sales, service, and rentals of supplies and equipment. Builders, surveyors, and engineers know they can choose from a wide variety of products ranging from supplies to electronic theodolites and computerized surveying systems. Many other items are carried in stock at the St. Louis location and by authorized Seiler dealers throughout the United States. With an additional offices in Kansas City and Indianapolis, Seiler is now even more accessible and able to serve a much wider area.
