SKYMASTER Model ZKP 4

SKYMASTER ZKP 4, though seemingly a midget of a planetarium projector, is great when it comes to performance. It has all the capabilities of a large-dome planetarium machine.

Realistic, true-to-nature depiction of the sky
Sophisticated projection systems with ZEISS fiber optics provide the best projection of the starry sky ever seen in a small planetarium. Each individual star is directly lighted through a separate optical fiber. Despite a lower-power lamp than that of the ZKP 3 or that of competitor makes, the stars are about ten times as bright! The Milky Way, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies are all presented with high detail accuracy.

All-round talents: The planet projectors
Eight instead of the former seven projectors present not only the naked-eye planets. Controlled in two axes, these projectors can demonstrate all nine planets of the solar system, planetary moons, comets, selected satellites, and even selected star motions – all with their exact orbits. With a single control cue, such complex demonstrations as the analemma or the far-out view of the planetary orbits around the Sun can be triggered. SKYMASTER ZKP 4 now also permits high-accuracy topocentric presentations. Errors in planetary locations due to gear transmissions with their periodic inaccuracies are a matter of the past. Digital control allows fast jumps across long periods of time.

Live or fully automatic operation – as you like it
The control system satisfies state-of-the-art standards, with the hardware providing excellent reliability, and the software enabling exceptionally convenient operation. Live shows are just as easy to do as automatic runs. A handy control panel provides all functions needed for live operation.

Open for integration
SKYMASTER ZKP 4 has all capabilities for the integration of modern audiovisual systems including all-dome video projection, and has interfaces for communication with external control systems. SKYMASTER ZKP 4 can be directly combined with PowerDome, the Carl Zeiss image generator for all-dome projection. This combination enables synchronous coupling of optical-mechanical and digital projections.

Fast remote maintenance service
Remote diagnoses and, where possible, remote maintenance are provided free of charge. These, together with download software updates, help keep the SKYMASTER ZKP 4 in good shape and up to date, and will make many service trips unnecessary.
