Fiber optics for small-dome planetariums
The new Carl Zeiss SKYMASTER ZKP 4 is an all-new planetarium projector
design for small and medium-sized domes. It boasts another enormous improvement
in the quality of the projected stars.
In this respect, SKYMASTER ZKP 4 is not only fundamentally distinct from
digital projection systems but also outperforms all its predecessor and
competitor optical small-planetarium projectors many times over – thanks to the
introduction of fiber optics.
SKYMASTER ZKP 4 is conceived for level-horizon domes with diameters of 6-14 m
(20-46 ft).

A new generation has taken over
Compared to ZKP 3, its predecessor model, ZKP 4 has many new functions. Sun,
Moon and all nine planets are positioned with topocentric accuracy. Added
features are a built-in lift and limitless azimuth rotation. The new control
system and the smart operating concept make using this planetarium projector a
matter of ease and a pleasure.
