Geospatial Sales – Omaha, Nebraska

Seiler Instrument is looking for motivated Sales Professionals, in the Survey-Geospatial Industry, who are successful, detail and career oriented and passionate about technology.  This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of an established, award winning organization.  By providing top of the line equipment and support offerings, Seiler Instrument leads the industry with the most comprehensive and innovative solutions available.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Identify key customers and markets that would be candidates for Survey-Geospatial products by placing prospecting calls and conducting visits.
  • Maintain contact with existing customers, close sales, and provide post-sale assistance.
  • Build rapport with business partners and remain the main point of contact for customers.
  • Keep up to date on new technology through continuous training and education.
  • Read and interpret sales documents and process orders.
  • Travel, usually within the state, is necessary for this position.

All candidates must have excellent communication skills.  This position is expected to present information in a clear and concise manner to all levels of technical sophistication.  Candidates should have knowledge of Surveying products.  Software knowledge including order processing systems, CRM and word processing is required.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years sales experience, preferably within a Survey industry field.  An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

CAD Support/Application Engineer

Civil/Infrastructure CAD

Seiler Instrument Company, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is an authorized Autodesk Reseller.  We offer sales consulting, training and support for Autodesk products and solutions.

We are currently seeking a motivated, success-oriented Autodesk Civil Infrastructure CAD Application Engineer.  This candidate will be located in St. Louis, MO. Strong candidates in the Chicago, IL area may be considered.

The primary responsibility for this position is to provide training and technical support for Autodesk Civil and Survey software solutions including Civil 3D, Map 3D, Navisworks, and 3ds Max. Duties will include teaching standard and custom training classes, providing technical support, and supporting the sales group as needed. Significant local travel and some long distance travel will be required for this position.

The Application Engineer candidate should have a background in Civil Engineering or Surveying with excellent customer service skills. Candidates should also possess strong computer interface skills. Public speaking ability is a must for this position.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred and a minimum of 2 recent years using or supporting Autodesk Software (Civil 3D) packages. Teaching and help desk experience a plus. Experience with CAD Management is preferred.

Medical Sales

This position is responsible for all stages of sales from prospecting to closing.

A successful sales representative will have the potential to earn commissions up to 30% of base salary.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Maintain current customer base and continuously develop list of prospective customers through cold calling and visiting universities, GPO and IDN networks, and other industry organizations.
  2. Work closely with Seiler’s independent sales representatives and distribution networks.
  3. Attend trade shows, meetings, and conventions.
  4. Assist the Medical Division Manager in preparing annual business plans and sales goals.

Education and experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Business, Science, Marketing or other related field
  2. 2-3 years of medical or dental sales or distribution, experience with Surgical Microscopes, Loupes and/or Colposcopes is preferred
  3. Experience working with GPOs and IDNs preferred
  4. Experience working with independent representatives a plus

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  1. Must be familiar with medical/dental terminology and must be able to communicate well with business partners at varying levels of technical sophistication.
  2. Must be able to speak publicly to small and large groups
  3. Must be motivated, congenial, and professional in appearance.

Other requirements:

  1. Must be able to travel 10%-20% of the year, including overnight and international

NC Programmer and/or Estimator

Seiler Instrument & Mfg. Co., Inc., is seeking a skilled NC Programmer and/or Estimator to work in our precision machine shop. The programmer will be responsible for developing, correcting and maintaining CNC programs. Additional responsibilities include reviewing drawings and preparing cost estimates for machining the part.

Preferred candidates will be skilled in both NC machine program design and production cost estimating. However, individuals will excellent skills in EITHER NC machine program design OR production cost estimating will be considered IF the individual has the necessary foundation to be trained.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine cut dimension and configurations, selection of cutting tools, and machine speed and feed rates.
  2. Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine parts.
  3. Prepares geometric layout, on graph paper and/or using computer-assisted drafting software, to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
  4. Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
  5. Develops machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along design cutting path.
  6. Compares encoded tape or computer printout with original program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
  7. Observes initial operations of trial runs to prove taped or programmed instructions are correct.
  8. Analyzes a variety of costing data to project production costs of new products and to prepare estimates for current and prospective customers.

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years programming experience is preferred for this position. Additional programming training/education may substitute for years of experience. Strongly prefer prior experience with Master Cam machining software. Associate’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Management, or Mathematics a plus.

5 years experience with CNC Lathes and Mills is required. Must be able to confidently demonstrate the mathematical and programming skills necessary to design CNC machining programs and/or prepare thorough and reasonable cost estimates.
