Let Seiler help you better understand how to make your Mapping system meet your
specific goals. While all units come with documentation (print or digital) and
some on-line resources, your learning experience can be greatly enhanced by
personal attention to your needs. We maintain a staff of well-qualified
trainers. Our trainers do not simply read from a manual and used “canned” data.
Instead, they learn of your application and apply specific examples that you can
relate to.
 |
Benefits of Training:
- Get started using your equipment right away
- Prevent costly re-visits to collect and process data due to improper
techniques
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in the field and in the office
- Get hands-on experience before you embark on your project
- Custom class allows instructor to use your data for more effective field
projects

CLASS DETAILS: Training can be performed at the customer’s facility or at a Seiler training facility (St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Indianapolis). Locate your office using our
Office Locator.
If at the customer’s facility, instructor travel costs may be assessed,
depending on the location. Customer will supply one GPS unit for the training.
Seiler will supply up to two additional units to ensure that there are no more
than two students per GPS units. Seiler will provide lunch for all attendees if
the training is at a Seiler facility. Special rates apply to those who buy
training with a technical support agreement or on their original order with
their equipment. Contact your

TerraSync / Pathfinder Office
TOPICS: GPS Basics, GPS Accuracy, GPS
Mission Planning, , GPS equipment set-up, Data Collection, Data
Transfer, Differential Correction, Editing GPS data, Export to GIS,
Import from a GIS, GPS Navigation, Data Update, Background Files.
Topics can be customized to focus on just the field worker or the
office set-up and processing. An orientation guide will be provided to
all students. This will be provided in a digital form (PDF).
LENGTH: One day of training is usually
sufficient for TerraSync training for someone already familiar with GPS
or GIS. However, two-days will allow a more relaxed pace and more time
to focus on additional topics such as data maintenance, laser
rangefinders, cameras, or more time for those using a subfoot device (GeoXH,
ProXH).

ArcPad/GPSCorrect/GPS Analyst
TOPICS: GPS Accuracy, GPS Basics, GIS/Geodatabase
fundamentals, Creating a simple geodatabase, Preparing data for ArcPad,
Sending data to ArcPad, GPS equipment set-up, Field data collection
techniques, GPS data processing, Validation and Rebuilding, GPS
Navigation, Data Update, Background Files. Topics can be customized to
focus on just the field worker or the office set-up and processing.
Comprehensive training manuals are available for $150 each.
LENGTH: Two-days of training is
usually necessary for ArcPad. Those already familiar with ArcGIS may be
able to grasp the topics in one day but we have found that the majority
of students who take a one-day ArcPad course give feedback stating they
believe that it should be a two-day course. A two-day course is
especially recommended for ArcPad users who are using a sub-foot device
(GeoXH, ProXH) or wish to go over data maintenance procedures.
