Benefits of purchasing Seiler Mapping Technical Support

Extended Hardware Warranties:

  • Extend the included one-year factory hardware warranty for a period of one or two more years. Two-year extensions incur an approximately 30% discount over two one-year extensions.
  • Get extended parts and labor coverage for qualifying repairs covered under the normal factory warranty.
  • While repairs are rare, the average repair cost of a mapping-grade GPS receiver is $1,500 with some costs exceeding $3,000. A two-year hardware warranty (taking the total coverage to three years) is only $450.
  • A unit can be covered for a total of three years from customer receipt date. If a unit is allowed to have its warranty expire, it cannot be renewed. It is best to have the additional two years of warranty applied at the time of initial purchase.

Software Maintenance Extension:

  • Extend the included 90 days or one-year factory software maintenance (upgrade support) for a period of one or two more years. Two-year extensions incur an approximately 30% discount over two one-year extensions.
  • Secure free software upgrades for the duration of your extension.
  • Ensure that your software includes the latest updates for increased field and office productivity.
  • Maintain compatibility with updated versions of Operating Systems and ArcPad (for ArcPad users).
  • Prevent the need for more costly software upgrades.
  • Trimble Terrasync Standard and GPSCorrect comes with 90 days of software maintenance , while Trimble Terrasync Professional, GPS Pathfinder Office and GPS Analyst comes with one year. After a 30-day grace period, there is an upgrade that is required to secure the latest version. This upgrade fee is at least twice the cost of the associate support agreement. For this reason, Seiler recommends that customers purchase Software Maintenance Extensions at the time of the initial purchase and keep them current. Software Maintenance Extensions do not have the three-year limit as Hardware Warranties do.

Software Upgrades

  • Required if a new version of software is desired and it has been more than 30 days since the expiration of the software maintenance.
  • Software upgrades upgrade the software to the current version and include a further one-year of software maintenance.
