Renting equipment makes sense if:
If you plan to use the equipment more than a few months out of the year and would like to spread out the cost of a purchase, please consider our leasing and financing options. Seiler offers a special incentive for those who rent from us. If you like the product and wish to purchase it after the rental, we will offer up to a 70% credit of your rental toward the purchase of the unit you choose to rent. This credit must be applied within the same calendar month of the return of the rental unit. All of our units come with field and office software. This could be either Terrasync/Pathfinder Office or ArcPad/GPSCorrect/Pathfinder Office. If Pathfinder Office is provided with the rental, it must be uninstalled after the conclusion of the rental. Seiler does not offer GPS Analyst as part of a rental. Pathfinder Office can be used with ArcPad/GPS Correct via the ShapeCorrect utility. Rental duration begins when the product is received by you. Seiler will pay for UPS “2-day” shipping to your facility for one-week or longer rentals. You will be responsible for shipping the product back and insuring the product for the return shipment. The rental duration ends when Seiler receives the product. Note: Minimum rental duration is two days. Customer is responsible for lost or damaged equipment. All rentals are subject to availability. Please check with your local Mapping Sales Representative for more information about the products and availability. For more information about the subfoot and submeter GPS options available for rental, you may also visit our mapping GPS product page. Seiler does not rent the 1-3 meter or 2-5 meter GPS devices. If you wish to rent a survey-grade (sub-centimeter) receiver, please visit our survey equipment rental page. Also, Seiler offers several training options for our rental customers to ensure that your project goes smoothly. Seiler recommends a half-day training by a certified trainer to get started. Training is NOT included in the rental rates. It is assumed that the user understands how to use the hardware and software. Technical support is included at no charge for any hardware issues. An orientation guide will be provided with the rental, if needed. However, any software-specific technical support is subject to a $150/hour charge via phone support by one of our certified trainers (1 hour minimum). Please note that subfoot accuracy will likely not be achieved in a hostile GPS environment (tree canopy, urban canyons, next to buildings, etc.) In such environments, it is best to use these devices as a sub-meter unit. Achieving sub-foot accuracy with the GeoXH or ProXH is not automatic. It requires careful consideration to field and office techniques in order to achieve this accuracy. Seiler recommends placing the GPS on a pole and using an external antenna (for the GeoXH) to achieve best accuracy. Also, Seiler recommends staying on each point for two minutes to help ensure that subfoot field requirements are met. It is important to pay attention to your base station distance and the horizontal datum used. Proper post-processing must be completed for sub-foot accuracy. Before renting a sub-foot unit, please read the H-Star White Paper and H-Star (Subfoot) Processing Tips and make sure that you understand and accept what is required to reliably and consistently achieve sub-foot. Hi-Accuracy Bundles: NOTE: Achieving 4-8in accuracy requires careful adherence to specific in-field and office requirements and distance to a specific type of GPS base station. Please check with Seiler to make sure that your requirements are accurately met. Prior to rental, Seiler Instrument highly recommends appropriate formal training geared to your specific needs.
