Data Collector
A data collector can be considered either by itself (standalone) or
integrated with GPS. Questions to ask when
considering data collectors are:
- Will it withstand the rigors of the outdoors (rain, dust, cold,
humidity, etc)?
- Will it withstand a drop?
- Will the screen be visible in direct sunlight?
- Will the battery last as long as I will need it to between charges?
- Is the processor, RAM, and storage space sufficient for my needs?
- Is there a removable storage option?
- Is the Operating System current?
- Will my data be secure in the event of a power loss?
- Do I need a full-text keypad?
